Emotional Design - Donald Norman
Emotional Design is a book by Donald Norman complementary to "Design of everyday things" - that addresses the usability issues of daily living products. In this new book, Norman approaches the emotional relationships between users and products, focusing on aspects of what he describes as the three levels of brain processing: the visceral, instinctive, pre-programmed, the behavioral, where is much of human behavior; and reflexive, which is the most complex level, responsible for the moderation of others.

The author relates each of these levels of affection between human beings and objects, and exemplifies with several products how design explores these levels to create (or not) a link between product and user. Also is discussed the role of emotions in decision making and how they were and are addressed in robotics and science fiction.
